About Chex
Chex Computers is a trading name of On Track Ltd.
On Track Ltd was set up in 1994 to provide computer engineering and consultancy
services to companies who needed help with real time/ on-line dependable computer
systems. These skills we have merged with newer internet technologies. We developed out first web site in 1996 and started managing web servers in 1998, when the name 'Chex Computers' came about.
On Track Ltd is owned and run by Robert Hale, who is a Chartered Information
Systems Practitioner and has over 20 years experience of developing computer based systems, and a good understanding of underlying business processes and systems. We understand that, especially within small companies, there isn't the need to employ full time IT/computer/internet support. We pride ourselves that we are able to help in this role, to work with our clients with a flexible approach, not a '9 to 5' way of life.
We have a small team of professionals, and close working relationships with other specialists who we call upon as required. We believe this method of working keeps our overheads lower and gives us the flexability to provide you the best all round service. We can provide much more than just a 'website'. We look at your business and how you work. Where necessary we can provide support and training.
We own and manage our own internet servers in London Docklands, Ashford Kent and USA, though we may contract others, local to the web servers, to manage our on-site activities. We choose to run Linux and understand lots about Linux servers, TCP/IP networking, DNS, Apache, and the other necessary parts of a fully function linux server. But within our team we also have Microsoft and Novell LAN/server experience.
